I’m honored to join The Earthshot Prize Council. Protecting nature has always been close to my heart, and I’ve seen the power of the global communities coming together and supporting innovation to create real change. Every action matters big or small and together we can nurture change to protect the planet we call home.
The Earthshot Prize shines a light on solutions that inspire hope and transformation, and I’m proud to represent Brazil in sharing these stories with the world.
For over two decades, Gisele Bündchen has been deeply committed to environmental advocacy. She has worked closely for many years with the United Nations Environment Programme, helping lead UNEP’s awareness campaigns. Gisele has also been part of supporting many water conservation projects, including one she and her family created together; the Clean Water Project in southern Brazil where she was born. In addition, she has been part of many initiatives focused on reforestation, regenerative agriculture, and wildlife protection across Brazil and around the world.
Through the Luz Foundation, Bündchen has championed problem-solving initiatives that provide funding and support for impactful projects in uplifting women/children, education, health, and the environment. Over the last few years, she has been allocating funds to protect all of the Brazilian biomes – Amazon, Cerrado, Caatinga, Mata Atlântica, Pampa, Pantanal – plus coastal marine ecosystems.
She is also a longtime supporter of The Lotus House, Miami, the largest women and children’s shelter in United States. As a proud board member, she has recently been part of funding the new Children’s Village opening this year, providing after school programs as well as therapeutic and social services. In addition it will house community based non-profits that will offer resources and programming to both sheltered and neighborhood children.
Gisele joins an incredible team of environmental leaders and influencers who play a vital role for The Prize — selecting the five Winners from fifteen exceptional Finalists each year.
We are delighted to welcome Gisele to our Earthshot community — she has made such a positive contribution to the Brazilian and global environmental movement, supporting people and planet.

Brazil, home to the Amazon rainforest and a leader in biodiversity and clean energy, is increasingly at the center of global discussions about finding solutions to protect the environment.
This year, The Earthshot Prize will take place in Latin America for the very first time, with the Awards Ceremony to be hosted in Rio de Janeiro at the Museum of Tomorrow on November 5th.
