Eduardo Silveira Mufarej

Eduardo Silveira Mufarej, Partner and Co-Chief Investment Officer at Just Climate, part of Generation Investment Management, has joined the Board of Trustees of The Earthshot Prize.

Mr Mufarej is an accomplished leader in global climate investing who brings a wealth of expertise in climate finance, at a time when it is more relevant than ever before to unlock capital for climate solutions.

With over 25 years of experience as an investor and entrepreneur, he previously founded Good Karma Partners, an investment firm focused on environmental and social impact in Latin America. He also co-founded and served as CEO of Tarpon Investimentos, one of Brazil’s largest independent investment management firms.

Climate finance is vital to create a sustainable future and Eduardo’s proven track record in leading global climate investment programmes will make him an invaluable addition to the Prize.

Home to over half of the Amazon Rainforest and nearly a fifth of the world’s biodiversity, Brazil is central to the global movement for nature-based solutions. Eduardo’s passion for Brazil uniquely positions him to support The Earthshot Prize’s mission globally and locally.

As we build a global legacy, Eduardo will be a vital part of that.

Beyond business, Eduardo is the founder of RenovaBR, a leadership development programme training a new generation of political leaders in Brazil. Since its inception, the programme has attracted more than 135,000 applicants, supported and trained over 950 leaders currently working in public administration, and successfully elected 440 of its fellows.

In recognition of his transformative work, Eduardo was recognized by Bloomberg as one of the 100 most innovative people in Latin America in 2023, and in 2024 he was included among the 500 most influential figures in the region.

His appointment also marks an important moment for Brazil’s role on the global climate agenda. Eduardo’s dual perspective, global investment experience and local impact, will help The Earthshot Prize deepen its influence in Brazil while sharing Brazilian innovation with the world.

I am honoured to join the Board of Trustees of the world’s most prestigious and impactful environmental award. As we reach the halfway point of the Earthshot decade, it’s more important than ever to show the world what urgent optimism can achieve.

Hosting the Awards Ceremony for the first time in Latin America is a historic milestone that reinforces Brazil’s growing role on the global climate agenda.
