Incredible Line-up of Global Stars Announced for the First-ever Earthshot Prize Awards Ceremony

We are thrilled to announce the star-studded line up for the first-ever Earthshot Prize Awards Ceremony hosted in London. Through incredible performances, stunning story-telling, and state of the art technology, this one-hour ceremony will celebrate the people and places driving real change to repair our planet – the first-ever Earthshot Prize Finalists and Winners.

Hosted by Clara Amfo and Dermot O’Leary, the ceremony’s events will be opened by Prince William and will also feature Sir David Attenborough who will speak about the importance of The Earthshot Prize and his optimism in our ability to rise to the greatest environmental challenges of our time.

The ceremony will feature unforgettable performances from globally renowned artists Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, KSI with Yemi Alade, and Shawn Mendes.

The five winners of The Earthshot Prize will be announced by a line-up of presenters including The Duchess of Cambridge and Mo Salah. Each winner will receive £1million in Prize funding.

A truly global event, the ceremony will connect London with the Finalists and Winners all over the world, showcasing the incredible global community working to repair our planet. The event will be a celebration of the natural world, with an epic set designed by world-renowned set designer Peter Bingemann.

The ceremony will be a carbon neutral production and broadcast, taking a zero waste to landfill approach, including the set design and staging across all locations.  All activities will comply with the BAFTA Albert Certification.

Created by Prince William and The Royal Foundation, The Earthshot Prize has led an unprecedented global search for the most inspiring and innovative solutions to the greatest environmental challenges facing the planet.

The Earthshot Prize – London 2021 is made by BBC Studios Productions, and will be broadcast on BBC One at 8pm BST on 17th October 2021 and stream globally on Discovery channel’s Facebook page as well as be available on discovery+ worldwide from October 19th.
