Beginning with our first-ever Fellowship Retreat and culminating in our first-ever Earthshot Week in Singapore, 2023 has been a truly trailblazing year for The Earthshot Prize and our Finalists!
Let’s take a look back through some of the top moments from the past 12 months.
We began the year with our first-ever Fellowship Retreat in Windsor, UK. All fifteen of our 2022 Finalists took part in five days of expert coaching, networking and collaboration to help them further develop their plans to supercharge their solutions.

We were honoured to welcome Jacinda Ardern as a new member of The Earthshot Prize Board of Trustees. The former Prime Minister of New Zealand is already driving us forward with fresh ideas.

Marking our journey to Southeast Asia for the first time, we announced we would be bringing The Earthshot Prize to Singapore for a week of thought-leadership and celebration.

In the summer, Prince William teamed up with YouTuber’s Sorted Food to review three Earthshot Prize Winners’ innovations, using them to develop the first-ever Earthshot Burger and serve them to surprised members of the public.

Informed by expert advisors and the latest scientific understanding, we published our updated Roadmap. This extensive plan details the areas of interest in which The Earthshot Prize will identify the next potential Finalists and Winners.

After a successful inaugural year, we joined up with Bloomberg Philanthropies again during New York Climate Week to hold the second Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit. Our 2022 Finalists came together with environmental policymakers, leaders and activists to further spotlight their solutions.

And it was on stage during The Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit in New York that our third cohort of Finalists were announced. Chosen from over 1,000 nominees as the solutions with the best chance of having the largest impact on our Earthshots, these fifteen incredible innovators would go on to attend the Awards Ceremony in Singapore in November.

Our first children’s book, A Handbook for Dreamers and Thinkers, was published, featuring a foreword from Prince William and contributions from environmental leaders including Sir David Attenborough. Introducing readers to the innovators around the world working to repair the planet the book shows simple ways young people can make a difference.

We kicked off our visit to Singapore with the Fellowship Retreat, where our 2023 Finalists met in person for the first time. Workshops and networking sessions helped develop their planet-saving plans and provided the perfect setting to bond as a cohort and explore opportunities for collaboration.

To accompany our Awards this year, we held our first-ever Earthshot Week. A series of community events, thought-leadership forums and networking opportunities took place across Singapore with the aim of bringing about tangible action to repair the planet.

The moment we had all been waiting for. At a star-studded Awards Ceremony in Singapore, Acción Andina, GRST, WildAid Marine Program, S4S Technologies, and Boomitra were announced as the 2023 Winners of The Earthshot Prize.
