This time last year, we announced the most prestigious environmental project in history, The Earthshot Prizedesigned to incentivise change, inspire collective actionand help repair our planet over the next ten years

At the heart of The Prize are five Earthshots – simple but ambitious goals for our planet, which if achieved by 2030 will improve life for us all, for generations to comeTogether, they form a unique set of challenges rooted in science, which aim to generate new ways of thinking, as well as new technologies, systems, policies and solutions.

2021 will be a time for hope and optimism for our planet as we award our inaugural winners of The Earthshot Prize. Our official nominators, including members of our Global Alliance, are already seeking out and nominating the outstanding projects and initiatives whose evidence-based solutions make the most progress towards the five Earthshots

Over the past year, our work has been met with enthusiasm from around the world, and we have been inspired to hear just how many people want to play their part. As we look ahead at the start of a new year, The Earthshot Prize is proud to collaborate with Count Us In’, to show some of the simple steps we can all take to support the global effort to create a better future for our planet

Count Us In is an initiative convened by TED Countdown, a Global Alliance Partner of The Earthshot Prize, focused on mobilising people all around the world to take practical steps that when aggregated, will make a significant impact.

By taking these small but impactful steps – whether it’s pledging to reduce food waste, switching to greener energy or eating seasonally, we can all join the movement and be part of the solution.
