The Earthshot Prize holds Fellowship Retreat with 2022 Finalists in Windsor featuring visit from Prince William

The Earthshot Prize convenes all 15 of its 2022 Finalists during its inaugural Fellowship Retreat, just one part of a nine-month programme to supercharge their game-changing solutions.

The Retreat is a vital part of the new Earthshot Prize Fellowship Programme, a unique accelerator designed by leading global design company IDEO, to help the Finalists of The Earthshot Prize grow their solutions by unlocking new routes to market, finance, and major partnerships. All 15 Finalists will take part in the nine-month programme to help them leap ahead in their scale and impact via strategic support and ambitious collaborations with The Earthshot Prize Global Alliance of 48 businesses, NGOs, and philanthropists.

During the Fellowship Retreat, Finalists will convene at Cumberland Lodge in Windsor, UK, to meet, learn and collaborate as they continue their journey towards making a transformational impact in the efforts to protect and restore our planet by 2030. Major leaders and thinkers will be invited to share their insight and wisdom, while an additional group of individuals and organisations will be on-hand to support immediate growth opportunities. Speakers will include Christiana Figueres, former UN Climate Chief and Chair of The Earthshot Prize and Hindou Oumarou Ibrahim, environmental activist, geographer and Member of The Earthshot Prize Council.

During the week, Finalists will attend a Forum hosted by Deloitte in London where they will be connected with advisors, market access partners, potential funders and enthusiastic champions who could help them scale their impact immediately and over the coming decade.

Prince William, President and Founder of The Earthshot Prize, will meet with the Finalists in- person for the first time at the Fellowship Retreat and hear more about their ambitious plans for 2023 and beyond.

The Earthshot Prize unveiled its second cohort of Finalists in November 2022, announcing three Finalists in each of the five Earthshot Prize Categories: Protect and Restore Nature; Clean our Air; Revive our Oceans; Build a Waste-free World; and Fix our Climate. The 2022 Finalists – and five Winners – were celebrated at a sustainably-produced awards ceremony in Boston in December 2022.

About The Earthshot Prize

Founded by Prince William and The Royal Foundation in 2020, The Earthshot Prize is a global environmental prize to discover, accelerate and scale ground-breaking eco-solutions to repair and regenerate the planet. Inspired by President John F. Kennedy’s Moonshot, which united millions of people around the goal of reaching the moon, The Earthshot Prize aims to catalyze an Earthshot challenge to urgently encourage and scale innovative solutions that can help put the world firmly on a trajectory towards a stable climate, where communities, oceans and biodiversity thrive in harmony by 2030. The five challenges are: Protect and Restore Nature; Clean our Air; Revive our Oceans; Build a Waste-free World; and Fix our Climate.

The Prize aims to turn the current pessimism surrounding environmental issues into optimism but championing inspiring leadership and helping to scale incredible cutting-edge solutions.
